What's Included to Eat on a Disney Cruise? A First-Time Cruiser's Guide
One of the biggest surprises for first-time Disney cruisers is just how much food is included in the cost of your cruise. From three-course dinners and quick-service favorites to unlimited soft-serve ice cream, you'll have plenty of delicious options without constantly reaching for your wallet.
Here's a look at what's included—and what costs a little extra.
Rotational Dining
One of the highlights of a Disney Cruise is rotational dining. Each evening, you'll experience one of Disney's uniquely themed restaurants while your dedicated serving team rotates with you throughout your voyage. That means you'll enjoy familiar faces each night while experiencing a new atmosphere and menu.
During our sailing aboard the Disney Fantasy, Animator's Palate was one of our favorite dining experiences. The combination of themed entertainment and delicious food made dinner feel like part of the vacation—not just another meal.
Quick-Service Favorites
Need something between activities or after a day by the pool? Several quick-service locations are included with your cruise fare.
One of my family's favorites was Flo's Café on the Disney Fantasy. Whether you're craving tacos, pizza, burgers, or chicken tenders, it's easy to grab a casual meal without making a reservation.
Unlimited Soft Drinks
Unlike many cruise lines, Disney Cruise Line includes fountain soft drinks at self-service beverage stations on the pool deck, as well as during meals in the main dining rooms.
Being able to refill your drink throughout the day is a nice perk, especially for families.
Soft-Serve Ice Cream
Yes—it's included!
One of the most popular spots on the pool deck is the unlimited soft-serve ice cream station. Whether you're cooling off after swimming or looking for an afternoon treat, it's available throughout much of the day at no additional charge.
Room Service
Many first-time cruisers are surprised to learn that room service is also included.
Whether you want breakfast delivered before heading ashore or a late-night snack after an evening show, most room service menu items are complimentary. (A gratuity for the crew member delivering your order is customary.)
Dining on Disney's Island Destinations
If your itinerary includes Disney Castaway Cay or Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, you'll be happy to know that lunch is included there, too. Enjoy a variety of barbecue favorites, fresh salads, fruit, desserts, and kid-friendly options at the island's buffet locations—all included in your cruise fare. Soft drinks are also available at the self-service beverage stations, so you can enjoy a full day on the island without worrying about purchasing lunch. And don't worry, plenty of soft-serve ice cream is also available.
What's Not Included?
While the vast majority of dining is included, there are a few exceptions.
Specialty coffee beverages, alcoholic drinks, smoothies, and specialty dining experiences carry an additional charge. These are completely optional, and you'll have no shortage of excellent complimentary food throughout your cruise.
My Favorite Part
One of the things I appreciated most was never feeling like I had to budget for every meal or snack. Whether we were enjoying dinner at Animator's Palate, grabbing tacos from Flo's Café, or treating ourselves to soft-serve after a day in the sun, there were plenty of delicious options already included in our cruise fare.
