There are a lot of things I love about a Disney Cruise.

The characters.

The food.

The entertainment.

The kids clubs.

The destinations.

And, of course, waking up surrounded by the ocean.

But there's something about the See Ya Real Soon Party that hits a little differently.

Because this isn't the beginning of your vacation.

It's the end.

And Disney knows how to send you home with one more little dose of magic.

What Is the See Ya Real Soon Party?

The See Ya Real Soon Party is a farewell celebration held toward the end of your Disney Cruise Line sailing.

Think of it as one last opportunity to gather together, celebrate the incredible vacation you've just had and say goodbye to some of your favorite Disney friends before heading home.

And if you're anything like me, you may be feeling a little bittersweet by this point.

You've spent several days settling into ship life.

You've figured out where everything is.

You've met your dining team.

The kids have made memories in the youth clubs.

You've probably developed a favorite spot onboard.

And then suddenly...

It's almost time to go home.

That's where the See Ya Real Soon Party comes in.

One Last Chance to See Some Favorite Characters

One of the things I really enjoy about this celebration is that it can be another opportunity to see some Disney Characters before your cruise comes to an end.

Disney Cruise Line offers character encounters throughout its sailings, including scheduled greetings and surprise appearances, although the specific characters and experiences can vary by ship and sailing.

And for me, that's part of what makes the farewell celebration so fun.

You might think you've already had plenty of opportunities to see characters during your cruise...

But when you realize you're about to leave the ship, suddenly you're thinking:

“Wait! One more picture!”

Don't Forget Your Camera

If you want pictures from the celebration, have your phone or camera ready.

Disney Cruise Line has professional photographers available at scheduled events, including character greetings and deck parties, so there may also be opportunities to have photos taken by the onboard photographers.

And personally, I think these are the kinds of photos that become even more meaningful after the vacation is over.

Because they're not just pictures of characters.

They're pictures of the last night of your Disney cruise.

The Party Is Fun... But It's Also a Little Bit Emotional

I'll be honest.

The See Ya Real Soon Party can make you realize just how quickly your cruise went by.

You spend months planning.

You count down the days.

You finally board the ship.

And then, somehow, you're standing on the deck at a farewell celebration thinking:

“How is this already over?”

That's the strange thing about vacations.

The days you're looking forward to forever somehow become the memories you wish you could go back to.

And that's one reason I love Disney Cruise Line so much.

They don't just send you home.

They give you one more moment to celebrate the experience.

My Tip: Don't Skip It

If you're tempted to skip the See Ya Real Soon Party because you're tired, packing, or already thinking about debarkation...

Don't.

You've made it all the way to the end of your cruise.

Take the time to enjoy one last celebration.

Put down the packing for a little while.

Take the pictures.

Watch the characters.

Dance.

Laugh with your family.

And soak it all in.

Because tomorrow, you'll be walking off the ship.

And trust me...

You'll be glad you had one last Disney moment before you left.

And Then Comes the Hard Part...

Going home. 😭

That's when the vacation officially comes to an end.

But there's something comforting about knowing that Disney Cruise Line doesn't have to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Maybe the See Ya Real Soon Party isn't really goodbye.

Maybe it's Disney's way of saying...

“We'll see you real soon.”

And if you're anything like me, you might already be wondering:

“So... when can we book the next one?” 🚢✨

Ready to Experience Disney Cruise Line?

If you've never sailed with Disney Cruise Line, choosing the right ship, itinerary and stateroom can feel overwhelming.

That's where I come in.

I help families compare Disney ships, itineraries and staterooms so they can find the cruise that's the best fit for their family.

Because the goal isn't just to book a cruise.

It's to create the kind of vacation where, when it's time for the See Ya Real Soon Party, you're already wishing you could stay a little longer.

Don't just dream about the fairytale. Travel it.
